Our Management Team consists of Gavin Spencer, Steve Heeley and Mathew Parsons.

Gavin Spencer - began at the company twelve years ago, coming straight from Sheffield College after studying Business and Finance. He has worked his way from accounts junior through to director of the company and leading the management team, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003. Gavin specialises in corporate accounts and auditing.

Steve Heeley - started his career at a medium sized practice in Sheffield, he then transferred to Thorntons Accountants where he has now been for nine years and has progressed to Personal Tax Manager. Steve manages the self employed department and oversees a portfolio of corporate and audit clients he also specialises in and a wide variety of taxation matters.

Mathew Parsons - graduated from Sheffield Hallam university with a BA (Hons) in Financial Studies in 2001. He joined Thorntons shortly thereafter and became a manager following his qualification as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005. He manages the firm's VAT Department and also works in personal and corporation tax and accounts preparation.

Linzi Woodcock - has worked for the firm for three years during breaks from her mathematics degree, commencing full-time work in 2007 in our Self Employed accounts preparation department. She also assists with company accounts and taxation work and is studying to become a Chartered Certified Accountant. Linzi's past work experiences enable her to work with the deaf, a service we are pleased to offer at Thorntons.
